Job summary

Tech 5 is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Christchurch team, delivering robust cost planning, budgeting and commercial management across multiple commercial projects in the South Island.

With 5+ years of NZ experience, you will lead subcontractor procurement, manage variations, forecasts, and final accounts, mentor junior staff, and build strong client and consultant relationships while upholding high standards of accuracy and integrity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Quantity Surveying experience in NZ commercial construction.
• Strong understanding of NZ construction contracts and commercial processes.
• Excellent commercial acumen and attention to detail.

• Cost planning, estimating, and project budgeting.
• Subcontractor procurement and administration.

With a healthy pipeline of secured work and continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Christchurch team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership of project finances, mentoring others, and contributing to the successful delivery of commercial construction projects.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 5 years' Quantity Surveying experience within New Zealand commercial construction
• Proven experience managing project costs from procurement through to completion
• Strong understanding of NZ construction contracts and commercial processes
• Excellent commercial acumen and attention to detail
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work independently and contribute as a senior member of the team
