Job summary

Temperzone Limited in Auckland is seeking a Quality Technician to support delivery of high standards across manufacturing operations. This hands-on role covers quality control, calibration, investigations, and customer returns (RMA) activities, helping ensure products meet company and customer expectations.

You'll work across technical and operational teams, maintain compliance, support quality improvements, and contribute to a safe workplace with health and environmental guidelines.

Qualifications

  • HVAC service experience and fault-finding ability.
  • Trade qualification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
  • Valid Refrigerant Handling Licence.
  • Experience testing and repairing HVAC equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections and quality checks on products, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Act as a first point of contact for quality-related issues across the business.
  • Conduct product audits and support containment activities for quality issues.
  • Assist with root cause investigations and corrective actions for non-conformances.
  • Manage calibration and verification activities for testing and measuring equipment.
  • Manage calibration records and coordinate external calibration services when required.
  • Process customer returns (RMA), including inspection, repair, testing, sign-off, and system updates.
  • Prepare reports on quality findings, audit results, RMA activities, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support training and guidance on quality control processes and standards.
  • Follow health, safety, and environmental requirements and contribute to a safe workplace.

About the role

We’re looking for a Quality Technician to join our team and support the delivery of high standards across our manufacturing operations. This hands‑on role combines quality control, calibration, investigations, and customer returns (RMA) activities, making it ideal for someone who enjoys problem solving and working across technical and operational teams. Desired Skills and Experience

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Experience servicing, fault finding, and repairing HVAC equipment.
  • Trade qualification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning or equivalent.
  • Refrigerant Handling Licence and/or Electrical Service Technician Licence.
  • Practical experience in testing, fault finding, and repairs.
  • Experience using measuring tools and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Understanding of quality systems, inspection processes, and calibration requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
