Job summary

Horizon Energy Group – Queenstown, South Island is seeking an HVAC Maintenance Technician to perform scheduled maintenance, servicing and repairs on HVAC systems across commercial and industrial sites.

Applicants should have a minimum of 5 years in the HVAC mechanical trade, a NZ Class 1 licence (or ability to obtain one), and strong multitasking and communication skills. The role involves safe, independent and team-based work on client sites with a focus on reliability and service quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in the HVAC mechanical trade.
• NZ Class 1 driver licence (or ability to obtain one)
• Experience using hand and power tools
• Strong organisational skills and ability to multi‑task
• High level of self‑motivation and professional presentation
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Commitment to safe work practices and familiarity with OH&S guidelines
• Good written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Performing scheduled maintenance, servicing and repairs on HVAC systems across commercial and industrial sites
• Conducting inspections, diagnostics and corrective work to maintain system reliability
• Using hand and power tools safely and effectively for mechanical and refrigeration tasks
• Completing work independently or as part of a team across various buildings and facilities
• Following all health and safety procedures and contributing to a safe work environment
• Providing professional, customer‑focused service while representing the company on client sites

As a HVAC Maintenance technician, your key responsibilities include:

• Performing scheduled maintenance, servicing and repairs on HVAC systems across commercial and industrial sites

• HVAC and mechanical servicing across diverse commercial and industrial environments

• Building technical skills in refrigeration, mechanical systems and general facility maintenance

With the following preferred requirements :

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in the HVAC mechanical trade
• Current NZ Class 1 driver licence (or ability to obtain one)
