Job summary

BestStart Omokoroa in Tauranga (Bay of Plenty) is seeking a passionate Early Childhood Teacher to join the Under 2s team in a permanent part-time role, 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

You will contribute to our play-based, tamariki-led curriculum guided by Te Whāriki and Te Tiriti o Waitangi, delivering inclusive, culturally responsive learning experiences and building strong relationships with children and whānau.

Qualifications

• NZ teacher registration current
• Strong belief in child-led learning and development
• Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and bicultural practice
• Good knowledge of Te Whāriki, ECE regulations and effective teaching practices

About You

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about early childhood education and enjoys building meaningful relationships with children and their whānau.

You’ll bring:

• A Level 7 Bachelor of Education or Diploma of Teaching qualification (ECE or Primary)
• Current New Zealand teacher registration
• Confidence in supporting child-led learning and development
• A genuine commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and bicultural practice
• Strong knowledge of Te Whāriki, ECE regulations and effective teaching practices
• A warm, caring and collaborative approach to working with tamariki, whānau and colleagues
