Job summary

BestStart Prestons in Christchurch is seeking a passionate Qualified and Certificated Teacher to join our Over 3's team. This permanent role is 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility to fit school hours for the right candidate.

You will work with whānau to support tamariki through play-based learning, using Te Whāriki, and uphold high standards and compliance. We offer full pay parity and a supportive mentoring program, plus leave and health benefits.

Qualifications

• B.Ed. or Diploma in Teaching (ECE) Level 7 with NZ Teaching Council certification.
• Strong understanding of child-led learning and curriculum planning.
• Knowledge of Te Whāriki and ECE Regulations.

• Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally responsive teaching.
• Passion and dedication to quality early childhood education.

About the Role

This is a permanent position working 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexibility to accommodate school hours for the right candidate. You will be part of our vibrant Over 3's team.

Whether you're newly qualified or an experienced teacher, you'll play an important role in helping tamariki develop confidence, resilience, and a love of learning. We encourage children to step outside their comfort zones, try new things, and express their ideas with confidence.

What We're Looking For
