Job summary

Meadow Fresh dairy manufacturing site in Christchurch seeks a Project Engineer to join the Group Engineering team, supporting capital upgrade projects to increase UHT production. You will be accountable for end-to-end delivery, technical assurance, and acceptance of major plant and process equipment.

Responsibilities include defining scope, coordinating design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and final handover, while maintaining strict cost and schedule controls and reporting to

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Electrical, or Automation.
• Experience with capital, industrial, or automation projects.
• Experience with Project Organization, cost estimation and scheduling.
• Familiar with Scope of Work documents & Technical Performance specifications.
• Hygienic design and Safety in Design during Installation and Commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver end-to-end delivery, technical assurance and acceptance of major plant and process equipment.
• Maintain strict scope controls to protect capital cost and schedule KPI.
• Provide regular reports to stakeholders with updates and site project meetings.
• Support procurement including tender, bid evaluation, pre-award and award, including contract management.
• Oversee Scope of Work, Technical Performance Specifications and cost estimation.

The role covers full lifecycle of assigned equipment scope, including requirements definition, design assurance, procurement support, vendor and contractor technical management, installation oversight, commssioning, and final acceptance.In order to achieve this, your key responsibilities will include:Maintain strict scope controls to protect the project capital cost and scheduling of KPIsProvide regular reports to stakeholders with written updates and site project meetingsSupport with procurement including tender, bid evaluation, pre-award and award, including contract management through supply, installation and commissionOversee Scope of Work, Technical Performance Specifications and cost estimationNote: This role is for the duration of Stage 2 Capital works so is estimated to be a 24 month fixed term contract.About YouIn order to make this role a success, we are looking for a qualified Project Engineer ideally with a few years' experience in delivering Capital, Industrial, or Automation projects.Specifically, some of the experiences and skillsets we are looking for include:An Engineering qualification (Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Electrical, or Automation) is a must; a qualification in Project Management would be highly beneficialExperience with Project Organization, cost estimation and scheduling.
