Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Social Workers is seeking a hands-on contracts coordinator to manage commercial construction contracts from intake through to manufacture and install. The role is office-based with some site visits and is based in Auckland or Wellington.

This is a hands on coordination role for someone who understands construction, can get across the detail quickly and takes responsibility for making sure the job is right.
You will be the link between clients, site teams and the internal manufacturing operation. Office based with some site visits.
The role
Take ownership of allocated contracts from handover through to completion
Review plans, specifications and schedules and turn them into accurate manufacturing information
Coordinate approvals, variations, contract instructions, drawings and sales orders
Work directly with contractors, consultants, site teams and internal operations
Stay ahead of issues, protect programme and delivery requirements, and keep project records accurate
The five must haves my client is looking for:
1. Commercial construction exposure. You have worked on site, or closely with site teams, and are confident dealing with Tier 1 and 2 contractors.
2. Plans and construction documents. You can read and interpret plans, specifications, schedules and contract information like a book to identify problems and opportunities.
3. Understanding of how a building project comes together. You understand the construction process, sequencing and how decisions affect manufacture, site and programme.
4. End to end ownership. You take responsibility, manage detail, follow through and deal with changes or problems before they become bigger issues.
5. Fast and accurate with systems. You work confidently and quickly across Microsoft Office, project documentation and ERP or similar business systems.
