Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Social Workers is seeking a hands-on production leader to oversee the safe operation of machines and equipment in the factory and grounds. You will optimize staffing, resources and workflow across the production area.
You will lead by example for right-first-time manufacturing, supervise training, coordinate with the Production Manager and Dispatcher, and ensure adherence to SOPs and health and safety.
Hands-on production leader responsible for the teams safe operation of machines and equipment in the factory and grounds. Optimum management of staffing, resources and operation of work centres within the field of responsibility. Lead by example for right first time manufacturing.
Provide leadership & support to the team
Liaise with the Production Manager and Dispatcher to schedule daily activities
Identify problems and solutions and elevate these to the Production Manager as required
Daily meetings held with the team at shift handover, including KPI recording and review
Responsible for unlocking and lock up of building when your shift is the first or last to be on site
Manage & ensure training of new operators
Manage & ensure training of the team on any new or change of procedure or product
Adhere to production and workshop SOP's and best practice
Take a proactive approach to H&S - enforce appropriate PPE and promote a safe work environment at all times
Safely operate extruder, masterbatch dispenser, grinding mill and other factory machines if trained to do so
Ability to work without supervision
Ability to work to deadlines
Compliance with directives and instruction
Compliance with standard operating procedures
Respectful attitude towards others in the workplace
Fit and able to lift up to 20kg
Flexibility with hours during peak demand periods if required
Complete training as specified before commencing a task that is new to you
