Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and coordinate daily production activities, including schedules, priorities, labour and materials.
• Oversee warehouse operations including receiving, storage, stock movements, picking, packing and dispatch.
• Lead and supervise a small warehouse and production team, allocate workloads and monitor performance.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and stock levels using computerised inventory and operational systems.
• Monitor raw material, packaging and consumable requirements and coordinate purchasing and replenishment.
• Ensure incoming raw materials and finished goods are correctly received, stored, handled and recorded.
• Monitor production and warehouse performance and prepare operational reports.
• Investigate stock discrepancies, production issues and operational problems and implement corrective actions.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase accuracy, productivity and efficiency.
• Maintain product quality standards and ensure production activities follow company procedures.
• Ensure health and safety requirements are followed, including the safe handling, storage and movement of hazardous substances and dangerous goods.
• Maintain a safe, organised and efficient production and warehouse environment.

We are looking for a Production Manager to take responsibility for the day to day management of our production and warehouse operations.

This is a hands-on leadership role working closely with a small operational and warehouse team. You will be responsible for ensuring production is effectively planned, inventory is accurately managed, warehouse operations run efficiently, and appropriate systems, reporting, quality and health and safety standards are maintained.

Skills & Experience

To be considered for this position, you will need:

Proven experience in a production or manufacturing environment.

Experience managing or supervising warehouse and production operations.

Experience working with hazardous substances and/or dangerous goods.

Experience using computerised inventory management or ERP systems.

Strong practical knowledge of inventory control, stock accuracy and stock management.

Experience with production planning and scheduling.

Experience preparing and using operational reports to manage production and warehouse performance.

Experience supervising staff, allocating workloads and managing performance.

Sound knowledge of health and safety requirements within a production or warehouse environment.

Strong computer literacy and confidence using business and operational systems.

A practical, hands-on approach combined with strong systems, process management and problem-solving capability.

Authority & Accountability

The Production Manager is accountable for the effective day-to-day management of the production and warehouse functions, operational performance and the production and warehouse team.
