Job summary

Iplex Pipelines NZ is seeking an experienced Production Team Leader for our Hornby site in Christchurch. You will lead a small production team across a rotating shift roster (6am–2pm, 2pm–10pm, 10pm–6am) and drive safety, quality and performance on the factory floor.

You’ll coach team members, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with maintenance and quality to meet schedules. This hands-on leadership role requires strong communication and a proactive, results-driven mindset.

• Must have proven experience leading teams in manufacturing or production.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality on the factory floor.
• Strong communication and coaching abilities; proactive approach.

About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Production Team Leader to join our 24/5 manufacturing operational in Hornby. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you'll lead a small production team across a rotating shift roster that changes weekly (6am – 2pm, 2pm – 10pm and 10pm – 6am).

In this role you will be responsible for ensuring safety, quality and production targets are consistently achieved. You'll provide day‑to‑day coaching and support, work alongside your team on the factory floor, and develop a strong understanding of the technical aspects of plastic pipe manufacturing and foster a safety‑focused culture.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Leading and supporting a small production team

About You

To be successful, you'll bring:

• Proven experience leading teams in a manufacturing or production environment
• Strong people leadership and coaching skills
• Sound mechanical and technical aptitude
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• A proactive, results-focused approach
• Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Office
• Experience within plastics manufacturing would be advantageous
