Job summary

Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Social Workers is seeking a hands-on production leader to oversee the safe operation of machines and equipment in the factory and grounds. You will optimize staffing, resources and workflow across the production area.

You will lead by example for right-first-time manufacturing, supervise training, coordinate with the Production Manager and Dispatcher, and ensure adherence to SOPs and health and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience leading production teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong commitment to safety and SOP adherence.
• Ability to identify and solve problems quickly and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and support to the team
• Liaise with the Production Manager and Dispatcher to schedule daily activities
• Identify problems and escalate to the Production Manager as required
• Conduct daily shift handover meetings with KPI recording and review
• Unlock and lock up the building at start/end of shift
• Manage and train new operators
• Train staff on new or changed procedures or products
• Ensure compliance with production SOPs and best practices
• Proactively enforce PPE usage and maintain a safe work environment
• Safely operate extrusion and other factory equipment if trained
