Job description

A production schedule is only useful if people trust it, suppliers can meet it and the workshop can actually deliver it.

That is where you come in.

Technopak is creating a new Production Manager position to bring greater visibility, structure and momentum to its growing production operation. This is not a role where you simply inherit someone else's systems. You will have the opportunity to shape them, improve them and help build a production function ready for the company's next stage.

Privately owned and based in Auckland, Technopak designs and manufactures world-leading hygienic powder handling and packaging equipment for the dairy, infant formula, nutrition and pharmaceutical industries. Its machinery is installed across New Zealand and internationally.

The opportunity

Reporting to the General Manager, you will sit at the centre of production, overseeing the mechanical and electrical build of Technopak's equipment alongside the machine shop.

You will turn sales commitments and project requirements into a clear, achievable production plan, working closely with Engineering, Procurement and departmental leaders to keep work moving.

Your focus will include:

  • Developing and maintaining a reliable production schedule
  • Providing real-time visibility of workloads, priorities and capacity
  • Coordinating mechanical, electrical and machine-shop activities
  • Identifying pressure points before they become delivery problems
  • Supporting purchasing and supplier planning with accurate timelines
  • Improving time tracking, cost allocation and production data
  • Helping Technopak strengthen the systems needed to grow
  • Keeping the General Manager and Directors informed, with solutions rather than surprises

Success will be measured simply: quality equipment, delivered in full and on time.

What you will bring

You understand complex equipment builds and know that production rarely goes exactly to plan. More importantly, you know how to respond when it does not.

You may come from machinery manufacturing, automation, food-processing equipment, capital equipment or another engineering environment where multiple workstreams must come together at the right time.

You will bring production planning experience, sound engineering knowledge and the confidence to work across different teams. You can challenge a timeline without creating unnecessary friction, hold people accountable without losing their support and turn incomplete information into a workable plan.

You do not need to arrive with every answer. You do need to ask the right questions, communicate clearly and enjoy making a busy operation run better. Some domestic and international travel may be required to support project delivery.

If you are ready to take ownership of production and help a respected New Zealand engineering business scale with confidence, this role is worth a conversation.
