Job description

PPC Growth Manager | Google Ads, Microsoft Ads & Amazon Ads

We're the ecommerce company behind The Brooklyn and Dashed, selling to customers across New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Singapore and other international markets.

We're looking for an experienced PPC Growth Manager to take ownership of our paid search and emerging paid acquisition channels.

At the centre of the role is Google Ads.

Google is a major driver of revenue across our businesses, with established campaigns and annual advertising budgets exceeding $1 million. This isn\'t a greenfield account and we\'re not looking for someone to come in, rebuild everything for the sake of it, or reset years of accumulated account learning.

We're looking for someone who understands how to step into a mature, high-spend Google Ads account, understand what\'s working, identify genuine opportunities, test intelligently and improve performance without unnecessarily disrupting a successful existing setup.

You should genuinely live and breathe Google Ads.

The role

Google Ads will make up the majority of your time.

You\'ll manage and optimise paid search across multiple brands, countries and ecommerce stores, covering Search, Shopping, Performance Max and the wider Google advertising ecosystem.

You\'ll then take what you learn from Google and apply it to growing our presence across Microsoft Ads and Amazon Ads, both of which are currently much smaller channels with significant room to develop.

Beyond those core platforms, we want someone curious and open to new platforms.

What you\'ll own

You\'ll be responsible for:

  • Managing Google Ads budgets exceeding $1m/year

  • Growing and scaling our Google Ads accounts profitably

  • Developing and scaling our existing Microsoft Ads activity

  • Developing and scaling our existing Amazon Advertising

  • Everything PPC / GMC / Tracking for these platforms

  • Working closely with our small team on briefing landing pages, promotions, product positioning and advertising assets required, so our team can give you what you need to do your best.

Google Ads comes first

We want to be particularly clear about this.

Our Google Ads accounts are established and commercially important to the business.

We\'re not looking for someone whose first instinct is to restructure an account because it isn\'t organised the way they personally would have built it.

The right person will first understand the account, its history and the data behind it.

You\'ll understand the impact that major changes, unnecessary learning periods and account volatility can have on a business spending at this level.

We\'re just not interested in tinkering for the sake of activity.

What we\'re looking for

You\'ll ideally have:

  • Strong hands-on Google Ads experience, particularly within ecommerce

  • Experience managing meaningful advertising budgets

  • Deep knowledge of Search, Shopping and Performance Max

  • Strong commercial judgement, not just platform knowledge

  • An excellent understanding of CPA, ROAS, conversion rate and ecommerce economics

  • Experience with Google Merchant Center and product feeds

  • Strong analytical skills and confidence interpreting large amounts of performance data

  • The ability to distinguish a genuine performance trend from normal day-to-day noise

  • A testing mindset without constantly making unnecessary changes

  • An understanding of attribution and conversion tracking

  • Strong written and verbal communication

  • Curiosity about new advertising platforms and emerging acquisition opportunities

  • You should be comfortable being accountable for performance.

Microsoft Ads & Amazon Ads

You don\'t necessarily need the same depth of experience in Microsoft or Amazon that you have in Google.

What matters is that you understand paid acquisition well enough to transfer your knowledge between platforms.

These are currently smaller channels for us, so a key part of the opportunity is figuring out how large they can become profitably.

That means testing, learning, scaling what works and being willing to conclude that something isn\'t worth pursuing when the economics don\'t stack up.

Nice to have

Experience with SEO and organic search would be valuable, particularly because paid-search data can reveal significant organic opportunities.

However, SEO is not a core requirement for this role.

We currently work with an SEO consultant, so we\'re primarily looking for a paid acquisition specialist rather than trying to hire someone who does everything. But some experience or an interest in this area would be nice to have.

What success looks like

Put simply:

Are you driving more profitable growth than before we joined forces?

We want someone who can protect what is already working, find genuine opportunities to improve it, and build our smaller paid channels into meaningful contributors to the business.

Ultimately, we\'re looking for someone who thinks like an owner.

Someone who asks:

\"If this were my advertising budget, where would I put the next dollar?\"

rather than:

\"What change can I make in Google Ads today?\"

What we offer?

Sheesh, we know this has been a lot, but we also like to give you some perks too:

  • 4-Days per week

  • 30 Hours per week

  • 5 Weeks Annual Leave

  • Golden Day + Birthday Off

  • Smales Farm office

  • Discounted products for family and friends

We\'re a small team who punch above our weight, and we can\'t wait to meet you.
