Job summary

Laminex New Zealand, part of the Fletcher Building family, is seeking an experienced Planning & Procurement Manager for our Hamilton manufacturing site. The role ensures the plant can meet customer demand through production planning, materials management, procurement, inventory control and logistics coordination.

You will coordinate capacity planning across Production, Warehouse and Logistics, lead S&OP, optimise inventory, and partner with Sales and Supply Chain to manage risks and deliver

Qualifications

• 3+ years in production planning or procurement within manufacturing.
• Experience balancing demand, supply, and inventory while coordinating stakeholders.
• Strong forecasting and capacity planning capabilities.
• Proficient with SAP or similar ERP systems; Power BI is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead production, materials, and supply planning to meet customer demand and optimise plant performance.
• Manage raw material procurement, supplier relationships, inventory, and month-end WIP processes.
• Coordinate capacity planning across Production, Warehouse and Logistics teams.
• Lead S&OP activities to align demand, supply, and production capability.
• Partner with Sales, Supply Chain, and Logistics teams to manage risks and ensure supply continuity.
• Improve planning accuracy, DIFOTIS, lead-time reliability, inventory performance, and cost-to-serve.
• Maintain ERP/MRP data integrity and drive continuous improvement across the site.

We're looking for an experienced Planning & Procurement Manager to join our Hamilton manufacturing site. This is a critical role responsible for ensuring the plant can meet customer demand through effective production planning, materials management, procurement, inventory control, and logistics coordination.

The Opportunity

You'll play a pivotal role in coordinating the plant's ability to meet market and sales demand by managing production capacity, raw material supply, inventory, S&OP processes, and logistics activities. Your focus will be on maintaining supply continuity, optimising inventory, stabilising production schedules, and delivering strong customer service outcomes.

About You

You're an experienced planning and procurement professional who thrives in a manufacturing environment and enjoys balancing demand, supply, inventory, and stakeholder priorities.

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

• A tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years' experience in production planning, materials planning, procurement, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of forecasting, inventory management, capacity planning, and S&OP processes.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP or similar); Power BI experience is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across Operations, Sales, Supply Chain, and Logistics.
• A proactive, continuous improvement mindset, with exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
• High attention to detail and a focus on planning accuracy, data integrity, and delivering results.
