Job summary

About the role

Boffa Miskell is looking for a Planner to join our Wellington team. With a strong pipeline of exciting projects ahead, this is your opportunity to work alongside passionate professionals in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.

As a Planner at Boffa Miskell, you will contribute to a variety of planning projects across Aotearoa, from consenting and policy development to strategic planning work. You’ll work closely with clients, stakeholders, and multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality planning advice and solutions, ensuring environmental, social, cultural, and economic considerations are integrated into every project. This role offers you a great opportunity to broaden your expertise, refine your skills, and gain exposure to a diverse range of challenges that will help you grow both professionally and personally.

About You

• A bachelor’s degree and/or master’s degree in planning or a planning related field.
• Between 3-10 years’ experience in a planning role with exposure to policy and plan development preferred.
• Strong experience contributing to planning projects, which showcase your technical expertise and an understanding of project delivery.
• A working knowledge of statutory approval processes and experience supporting communities and stakeholder engagement.
• The ability to build positive working relationships with clients, external consultants and colleagues. Local connections and knowledge
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• An ability to understand the broader context of projects and how planning outcomes contribute to communities and environments.
• A thirst for knowledge and a drive to take on new challenges.
• Membership with NZPI (or working towards it).
