Job summary

Placements24 is helping a well-established insurance client in Queenstown, Eastern Cape, recruit a Claims Manager to lead the Personal Lines Claims department. The role calls for strategic leadership, strong claims knowledge and the ability to drive service excellence and efficiency.

Ideal candidates will have 6–8 years of claims management experience in personal lines, excellent communication, and a track record of building high-performing teams in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification is preferred, along with industry-specific certifications.
• Candidate should demonstrate a minimum of 6–8 years in insurance claims management with emphasis on personal lines.
• Proven leadership and team management experience with a track record of high performance.
• Strong knowledge of personal lines products and claims processes, investigations, negotiations and settlements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Personal Lines Claims department and manage a team of adjusters and staff.
• Develop and implement claims handling policies and service standards to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Monitor performance metrics such as cycle times, settlement ratios and costs; drive improvements.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, regulatory requirements and internal guidelines.
• Provide coaching and performance reviews; manage department budget and resources.
