Triathlon New Zealand is seeking an experienced administrator to provide efficient and effective support to the CEO and to assist the Event Delivery Team in delivering three quality events. This part-time fixed-term role runs to 31 March 2029.
The role covers diary management, correspondence, minutes, and coordination of activities, with a focus on growing the volunteer programme ahead of Tauranga 2028 and World Championship events.
The purpose of the role is to provide efficient and effective assistance to the CEO and support the event delivery team to ensure successful and memorable delivery of the events. A key function will be the support of the volunteer programme, as we build capacity towards 2028, when we will welcome 6000 of the world's best Elite and Age Group athletes to Tauranga, New Zealand.

Ensure the CEO's diary is effectively managed and prioritised for the best utilisation of time
Manage all correspondence through appropriate distribution/delegation and tracking
Reply to routine correspondence ensuring all communications are responded to quickly, accurately, and courteously
Track outstanding tasks and monitor timeframes for expedient resolution of outstanding tasks/actions
Coordinate activities, processes and projects for CEO, and Event Delivery Team highlighting potential risks and suggesting possible solutions or ways forward
Support the team by taking minutes at important meetings on an as needed basis
Develop and maintain effective and trusted internal working relationships right across Tri NZ and with the Event Delivery Team
Develop and maintain strong external working relationships that support the needs and aspirations of Tri NZ and help support the Event Delivery Team to deliver three quality events
Support the administration of the volunteer programme across all three events
Attend event meetings and compile actions lists and distribute to owner of the action
Significant experience supporting senior leaders with administration, coordination, and project coordination, ideally in a complex environment
Sound organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise tasks and initiatives from conception to completion
Highly developed inter-personal skills and a reputation for exceptional customer service
Advanced knowledge and experience in MS Office applications and demonstrated ability to learn new systems
Triathlon New Zealand is the National Federation responsible for Triathlon in New Zealand. We have 27 clubs, nationally, who support grassroots and community triathlon, alongside our community triathlon team. Our High Performance team is responsible for the development pathway and elite triathlon supporting triathletes to compete on the world stage.
Triathlon New Zealand has secured the rights to host three international Triathlon events in 2026 and 2027, with the final event in 2028 serving at the World Championship Finals for Elite, U23, Junior, Para and Age Group Triathlon.
