Job summary

Kāinga Ora is hiring an HR Advisor on a fixed-term contract until 30 June 2028 to partner with leaders and the People Services team. You will provide trusted advice across the employee lifecycle, coach leaders, and ensure compliant people practices to support thriving teams and communities.

You will engage across the organisation, apply employment legislation, and drive continuous improvement through data insights and collaborative projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in an HR Advisor or generalist HR role.
• Working knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation and HR best practice.
• Ability to provide practical, credible HR advice to leaders.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, practical and customer-focused HR advice and coaching to leaders and employees.
• Support people leaders across the employee lifecycle, including performance, conduct, development, leave and wellbeing matters.
• Partner across the People Services team to deliver people initiatives, organisational priorities and change programmes.
• Support leaders to apply employment legislation, policies, employment agreements and people practices.
• Build trusted relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.
• Collaborate with specialist People teams to deliver consistent and effective people solutions.
• Use people data and insights to identify trends, inform decision-making and improve outcomes.
• Contribute to People Team projects, initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
