Job summary

Beca Limited is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end NZ payroll across our nationwide operations. You will ensure accurate pay, maintain employee records, and liaise closely with the People Advice team to resolve queries with care.

With 5+ years in NZ payroll, you will navigate payroll legislation and cross-jurisdiction requirements, leveraging DataPay and payroll reporting tools to deliver reliable, timely service.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of end-to-end New Zealand payroll delivery.
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation and compliance.
  • Experience with DataPay and payroll reporting tools.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.
  • Maintain employee records and collaborate with the People Advice team.
  • Respond to payroll enquiries promptly with accurate, confidential advice.

As a Payroll Specialist who enjoys complexity, look no further! Our nationwide New Zealand payroll operations provide a diverse and dynamic environment. Combined with a range of internal and intercompany variables, this role offers plenty of challenges beyond a standard payroll setting. You will be responsible for ensuring our employees are paid the right amount at the right time, maintaining employee records and working closely with our People Advice team. You will also respond to enquiries promptly, providing accurate advice and managing all queries with sensitivity and care.

You bring 5+ years of experience in end-to-end New Zealand payroll delivery, with a strong understanding of payroll legislation, compliance requirements, and payroll processes across multiple jurisdictions. Recognised as a trusted source of payroll expertise, you stay current with employment-related policies and regulations, proactively expanding your knowledge and sharing insights with others. You thrive in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, timeliness and exceptional service are paramount. With experience using DataPay and confidence navigating payroll systems and reporting tools, you can effectively manage complex payroll activities while ensuring compliance and delivering high‑quality outcomes. Above all, you are a collaborative team player who builds strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels. You take pride in supporting employees and leaders, balancing technical expertise with a customer‑focused approach and a passion for continuous improvement. You enjoy working as part of a team that makes a tangible difference to people across the business and are committed to delivering a reliable, accurate and professional payroll service.
