Beca is seeking an intermediate Software Engineer in Auckland to design, develop and test embedded, mission-critical software across aerospace, defence and regulated sectors. You will work with hardware-interfacing systems, contribute to architecture, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust solutions.
Qualifications include 2+ years in software engineering, ability to document design, and eligibility for NZ Government Security Clearance and NZ residency.

As a Software Engineer, you'll work on advanced technologies where software, hardware, and systems engineering come together to solve real-world challenges. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you'll contribute across the software lifecycle, from design and development through to integration, testing, and deployment. You'll provide technical delivery support and collaborate closely with clients to deliver robust, high-quality solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects while further developing your technical expertise and leadership capability in a collaborative and supportive environment. In this role you will: Design, develop, integrate, and test embedded/mission-critical software systems. Having a strong focus on the integration and interoperability of systems. Contribute to software architecture and solution design, operating in our delivery teams with minimal oversight. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex technical challenges. Understand requirements and develop effective solutions based on client needs. Support project delivery within time and budget, supporting mission critical systems that must operate first time, every time.

We're looking for an intermediate software engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and working on systems where software interacts closely with hardware and operational environments. You'll bring strong technical capability, sound engineering judgement, and a collaborative approach.
Important: The successful candidate must be eligible to obtain an NZDF Defence Site Clearance or National Security Clearance. Eligibility to obtain and maintain a New Zealand Government Security Clearance is a mandatory requirement for this position. Security and background checks will be undertaken as part of the recruitment process.
