Job summary

Fonterra is seeking a Payroll Analyst to support accurate, on-time payroll processing and provide responsive service to employees and managers. You will manage payroll transactions, apply NZ payroll legislation and employment agreement requirements, and collaborate with experienced colleagues to resolve issues and meet pay run deadlines.

We have three permanent, full-time opportunities based in Auckland or Hamilton with flexibility on where you join the team.

Qualifications

• At least one year of payroll experience or strong transactional payroll exposure in a high-volume environment.
• Working knowledge of New Zealand payroll legislation and employment law.
• Experience interpreting employment agreements, policies or payroll rules.
• Experience using payroll, ERP or time-and-attendance systems; exposure to SAP, SuccessFactors, Kronos, ServiceNow or Oracle is advantageous.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• High accuracy, good time management and ability to handle peak pay run periods.
• Sound Excel skills and confidence with payroll data.

Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end payroll activities including changes, timesheets and deductions.
• Review inputs and exceptions for accuracy ahead of processing.
• Respond to payroll queries from employees and managers and escalate complex cases.
• Maintain payroll records and resolve system or integration issues.
• Prepare standard payroll reports and third-party payments for review.
• Support payroll testing and changes to systems or processes.
• Follow payroll controls and audit requirements, identifying errors early.
• Contribute ideas to improve payroll processes and employee experience.
