Job summary

KiwiRail is hiring a Customer Service Specialist for a part-time, fixed-term role based at Picton Terminal. Hours are 9:30 am to 2:30 pm, seven days on, seven days off, including weekends and public holidays.

You will coordinate passengers and their bookings, assist with ticketing and check-in for both passengers and vehicles, ensure luggage is properly labelled and attended, and provide general travel information and advice to travellers.

Qualifications

• Part-time, fixed-term contract: 40 hours/fortnight.
• Hours: 9:30 am to 2:30 pm, seven days on, seven day off (will include weekends and public holidays).
• Starting October 2026 to April 2027.
• Location: Picton Terminal.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate passengers and their bookings.
• Assist with ticketing and check-in services for both passengers, their vehicles and commercial vehicles.
• Ensure passenger’s luggage is well looked after and properly labelled.
• Provide general travel advice and information to our passengers.
