Job description

Wilderness Motorhomes – Auckland airport, North Island

Love working with vehicles, solving puzzles, and keeping operations running smoothly? Looking to join a thriving, New Zealand–owned tourism business where your expertise makes a real impact? Want to work in a fun, collaborative environment with a team that genuinely enjoys what they do? This could be your next adventure!

Who is Wilderness?

Wilderness is a New Zealand–owned family business that has been at the forefront of tourism for over 20 years. We rent premium motorhomes to both locals and international visitors, and we are also the exclusive New Zealand distributor for some of Germany’s top motorhome brands.

We’re here to help our customers create unforgettable journeys across Aotearoa in beautifully crafted European motorhomes. But it’s not just about the vehicles—it’s about the seamless experience we deliver behind the scenes, from order placement through to delivery and support.

As our business continues to grow and set new standards in premium travel, there’s never been a better time to join the Wilderness team.

About the Role

We are looking for a Parts Consultant to ensure the seamless flow of our department. In this role, you’ll bridge the gap between customer needs, internal workshop requirements, and OEM standards to maintain operational excellence.

You won’t just be managing inventory—you’ll own the entire parts lifecycle, from initial inquiry through to sourcing, delivery, and financial reconciliation. By keeping internal technicians supplied and external customers happy, you will be a vital cog in maintaining our fleet and keeping our production moving smoothly.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Customer & Workshop Support: Own the external parts experience from initial inquiry through to delivery and payment. Ensure internal workshop technicians have the exact parts they need, accurately allocated to authorized work orders so workshop productivity never stalls.
  • Supply Chain & Sourcing: Sourcing parts from local and overseas suppliers, balancing cost, lead time, and urgency across freight options while managing reorder points.
  • Daily Inventory Operations: Oversee the daily flow of stock in and out of the warehouse, including verifying incoming deliveries, resolving discrepancies, and securing cost-effective outbound dispatch.
  • Project Logistics & Readiness: Manage parts readiness for major initiatives such as our NZ Conversion programme and ex‑rental refits, staging and logging parts ahead of vehicle arrivals.
  • Inventory & Financial Reconciliation: Safeguard physical stock and system data integrity, reconciling supplier invoices against purchase orders and quotes before approval.
  • Continuous Improvement & Sustainability: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance team efficiency while championing environmentally sustainable practices.
What You’ll Bring
  • Relevant Background: 3–5 years of operational experience in a parts, service, or customer support role within automotive, RV, workshop, fleet, or technical service environments.
  • Process & Detail Driven: Strong organizational skills, high accuracy in data entry, invoice reconciliation, and structured system workflows.
  • Problem‑Solving Mindset: A collaborative, reliable, and calm approach under pressure, with an ability to work within defined operational boundaries.
  • Tech‑Savvy & Adaptive: Comfortable utilizing modern workplace tools (including AI tools) to work more effectively and streamline tasks.

Requirements: Full, clean driver's licence (with the confidence to drive larger vehicles like motorhomes) and legal entitlement to work in New Zealand.

Why You’ll Love Working Here
  • Work‑Life Balance: Standard Monday to Friday schedule, allowing you to maintain great balance (with weekend work only as needed).
  • Supportive Culture: An inclusive, equitable workplace where every team member's voice is valued and safety comes first.
  • Perks & Benefits: Comprehensive benefits including health insurance (for eligible team members), Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), and free or discounted use of our motorhomes so you can explore New Zealand yourself!
  • Professional Development: Continuous support for your personal growth and career advancement.
Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion

We strongly encourage applicants from all backgrounds, perspectives, and underrepresented communities. We are committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace where all employees can thrive. If you require any accommodations during the application or interview process, please let us know so we can support your needs.

You must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand
