Job summary

Tourism Holdings Limited (thl) is New Zealand’s leading tourism company and the world’s largest provider of recreational vehicles, with a Palmerston North workshop seeking an Automotive Technician/Mechanic. You will service light commercial vehicles, diagnose faults, and repair to high standards while contributing to a safe workshop and health & safety initiatives.

A NZ Level 3/4 automotive qualification and 5+ years of experience are required, with weekend availability.

Qualifications

• Full NZ Driver’s Licence is required.
• NZ Level 3 or 4 Automotive Qualification (or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in vehicle maintenance.
• Wheel alignment experience is preferred but not essential.
• Familiarity with Mercedes Benz, Iveco, Fiat, and Ford light commercial vehicles is advantageous.
• Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays.
• Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal).
• Own tool kit.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Service vehicles to meet COF safety and mechanical standards.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults, including major components.
• Dismantle, repair, and reassemble parts to a high-quality standard.
• Escalate vehicle issues promptly and accurately.
• Use diagnostic scan tools to test and troubleshoot components.
• Complete warranty documentation when required.
• Contribute to a safe and tidy workshop environment.
• Support Health & Safety initiatives and company policies.
• Perform other duties as needed.

About the Role:

We’re looking for a skilled Automotive Technician/Mechanic to join our Palmerston North Workshop team. If you have strong automotive experience, enjoy working with light commercial vehicles, and want to play a key role in keeping our motorhomes in top condition, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

What We’re Looking For

• Full NZ Driver’s Licence.
