Job summary

Tourism Holdings Limited (thl) in Queenstown is seeking a skilled fixed term, full-time Mechanic to join our workshop team. If you have solid automotive experience and want to help keep our motorhomes in top condition, this is the role for you.

Key duties include servicing vehicles to COF safety standards, diagnosing faults, dismantling and repairing parts, using scan tools, and maintaining a tidy workshop. Weekend work and public holidays may be required.

Qualifications

• NZ Level 3 or 4 automotive qualification, or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in vehicle maintenance.
• Full driver’s licence.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Service vehicles to meet COF safety and mechanical standards.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and repair major components.
• Dismantle, repair, and reassemble parts to a high-quality standard.
• Ensure vehicle issues are escalated correctly and promptly.
• Use company-provided scan tools to diagnose and test parts.
• Fill out warranty paperwork when necessary.
• Participate in maintaining a tidy and organised workshop environment.
• Perform other duties as required.

We are looking for one skilled fixed term, full time Mechanic to join our Queenstown Workshop team. If you have solid automotive experience, are passionate about working with light commercial vehicles, and want to contribute to keeping our motorhomes in top condition, this is the role for you.

Key responsibilities include the following:

• Service vehicles to meet COF safety and mechanical standards
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and repair major components
• Dismantle, repair, and reassemble parts to a high-quality standard
• Ensure vehicle issues are escalated correctly and in a timely manner
• Use company-provided scan tools to diagnose and test parts
• Fill out warranty paperwork when necessary
• Participate in the thl Health and Safety system
• Assist with maintaining a tidy and organised workshop environment
• Perform other duties as required

Key requirements include the following:

• Full driver's licence
• NZ Level 3 or 4 automotive qualification, or the equivalent qualification
• Minimum of three years’ experience in vehicle maintenance
• Wheel alignment experience (preferred, not essential)
• Experience with Mercedes Benz, Iveco, Fiat, and Ford light commercial vehicles (advantageous)
• Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays
• A willingness to learn and grow in motorhome maintenance
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal

This role is 40 hours per week.
