Job summary

D&S Signature Painting in Auckland, North Island, is looking for a painter to join our team. Responsibilities include preparing interior and exterior surfaces, applying primers and coatings, and finishing with brushes, rollers or spray methods to achieve quality results.

You will work on a variety of surfaces, maintain safe work sites, and may be required to work weekends. We offer $30–$35 per hour, with a permanent full-time role based on 30 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Prepare interior and exterior surfaces, including stripping old coatings and patching timber elements

• Apply primers, coatings and topcoats using brush, roller and spray methods
• Mix paints and coatings to match colour requirements
• Coat various surfaces including drywall, timber and metal with paint, varnish or stain
• Mask and protect adjacent areas to prevent overspray
• Maintain clean, safe, and tidy work sites
• Work independently or in a team to meet project deadlines

We are looking for a painter to join our team in Auckland!

Job Title: Painter

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare interior and exterior surfaces, including stripping old coatings, removing deteriorated coatings, patching timber elements, treating rust and corrosion where required, filling cracks and holes, and sanding, scraping, and priming for a smooth base.

Operate hand and power tools including orbital/round sanding machines

Apply suitable primers, protective coatings, and topcoats using brush, roller and spray methods

Mix paints, stains, and coatings to match colour requirements, adjusting with thinners, pigments, driers, and oils as needed

Use brushes, rollers, or spray guns to coat a range of surfaces, including drywall, timber, and metal, with paint, varnish, or stain

Carry out painting and coating work on various architectural metal surfaces such as metal roofing, aluminium windows, metal doors and garage doors, metal fences, cladding panels, handrails and structural steel.

Mask and protect adjacent areas to prevent overspray and paint splattering

Carry out decorative and artistic coating systems, including Italian water-based finishes such as Spiver or Novacolor, where required.

Maintain clean, tidy and safe work sites

Work independently or as part of a team to meet project deadlines

Skills and Experience Required

• 1-2 Years of relevant experience, OR a Level 4 qualification or above in the relevant field, OR a Bachelor's degree or above in any field
• Reliable, punctual, and physically fit for on-site tasks
• Applicants should be a New Zealand citizen or Resident
• No criminal record
• Full-time availability; may work during weekends

We offer $30-35 per hour for a suitable candidate, depending on work experience. This is a permanent full-time role. The job is based on a minimum of 30 hours of work per week.
