Job summary

EZW Painting Limited is seeking reliable full-time painters to join our Auckland team. Starting pay is 26–35 NZD per hour, for 30+ hours per week, reviewed periodically. Overtime paid at the same rate.

You will prepare surfaces, apply finishes, select materials, and ensure safety and quality across interior and exterior projects. Candidates should have at least two years in painting-related work or a construction qualification, or a bachelor’s degree.

Qualifications

• Two years of proven relevant work experience in painting, plastering, construction, or a similar field.
• Must be available to work early mornings and weekends.
• Physical stamina and ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines.
• Pre-employed drug test and police check is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding, scraping, patching, and priming.
• Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces.
• Select appropriate paint and materials based on surface types and requirements.
• Follow safety protocols and use protective equipment.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas and proper storage of materials.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and team members to coordinate schedules.
• Address touch-ups or repairs to achieve a flawless finish.
• Adhere to project specifications and quality standards.

We are currently seeking reliable and full-time painters to join our team. The starting pay offered is $26-$35 hourly and will be fixed according to the skills and experience for at least 30 hours a week. However, this will be reviewed periodically. Any overtime will be paid as per the above pay rate. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of related tasks, including:

• Prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding, scraping, patching, and priming.
• Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray guns.
• Select appropriate paint and materials based on surface types, project requirements, and environmental factors.
• Follow safety protocols and use protective equipment to ensure a safe working environment.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas, including proper storage and disposal of painting materials.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other team members to coordinate painting schedules and prioritize tasks.
• Address any touch-up or repair work as needed to achieve a flawless finish.
• Adhere to project specifications, blueprints, and quality standards to meet client expectations.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

1. At least two years of proven relevant work experience in painting, plastering, construction, or a similar field; or a relevant construction-related qualification; or a bachelor’s degree or higher in any field.
