Job summary

Beyond Recruitment in Auckland is seeking a hands-on PACS/RIS Application & Integration Engineer to support critical radiology systems in a South Auckland setting. You will manage PACS/RIS, Oracle DB, HL7/DICOM interfaces, Windows/Linux environments and networking, ensuring reliable, secure, and available services.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting PACS/RIS and radiology environments.
• Strong Oracle Database and SQL skills.
• Hands-on HL7 and DICOM experience.
• Solid Windows Server, Linux and networking knowledge.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of healthcare interoperability and clinical workflows.
• Experience in a 24x7 clinical environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support PACS and RIS systems and radiology workflows.
• Manage Oracle Database administration, including SQL, performance tuning, backup/recovery.
• Support and troubleshoot HL7 v2.x interfaces (ADT, ORM, ORU).
• Support DICOM workflows (modality/worklist, C-STORE, C-FIND, C-MOVE).
• Administer Windows Server and Linux; troubleshoot across environments.
• Handle TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, and ports.
• Perform system upgrades, configuration, monitoring, backups, and support.
• Create scripts/automation using PowerShell, Python, Bash.
• Troubleshoot issues across application, database, interface, network and OS layers.

PACS/RIS Application & Integration Engineer

• Based in South Auckland

This is a hands-on role supporting critical PACS, RIS and clinical integration environments, with responsibility for application, database, interface, infrastructure and network troubleshooting.

Working closely with internal teams, vendors and hospital IT teams, you will help ensure systems remain reliable, secure and available.

About the Role

You will be responsible for:

• Supporting PACS and RIS systems and radiology workflows
• Oracle Database administration, including SQL, performance tuning and backup/recovery
• Supporting and troubleshooting HL7 v2.x interfaces, including ADT, ORM and ORU
• Supporting DICOM workflows, including modality/worklist, C-STORE, C-FIND and C-MOVE

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for a technically strong engineer with:

• Proven experience supporting PACS/RIS and radiology environments
• Strong Oracle Database and SQL skills
• Hands-on HL7 and DICOM experience
• Strong Windows Server, Linux and networking knowledge
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of healthcare interoperability, patient demographics and clinical workflows
• Experience working in a 24×7 clinical environment would be highly advantageous

Experience with VMware, Azure, Active Directory, monitoring/logging, cybersecurity and high-availability/database clustering would also be beneficial.

You must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold New Zealand Permanent Residency or Citizenship.
