Job summary

The Arnott's Group in Auckland is seeking an Operations Team Member - Baker for the Afternoon Shift at Avondale. You will work in a fast-paced, hands-on role combining bakery expertise with production and packaging tasks to deliver high-quality products while upholding safety and quality standards.

You’ll perform ingredient preparation, mixing, forming and baking, operate bakery machinery, manage changeovers, and contribute to continuous improvement within a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Recognised Bakery Qualification or equivalent trade certification.
• Experience operating bakery equipment within a food manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of bakery processes including ingredient preparation, mixing, forming, and baking.
• Understanding of food safety, quality, hygiene, and GMP requirements.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, flexible, and committed to quality outcomes.
• Continuous improvement mindset with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and operate bakery equipment across mixing, forming, and baking processes.
• Set up, adjust, operate, and complete changeovers on bakery machinery.
• Monitor product quality and process performance to ensure products meet specification.
• Support production and packaging operations, including machine operation and packing activities.
• Follow GMP, food safety, quality, and hygiene standards at all times.
• Complete production records and quality checks accurately.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and production trials.
• Work collaboratively with team members to achieve daily production targets.

Are you a qualified baker looking for a hands-on role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment?

We are seeking an Operations Team Member - Baker to join our Afternoon Shift team at our Avondale site. This role combines bakery expertise with broader production and packaging responsibilities, supporting the manufacture of high-quality products while maintaining the highest standards of safety, food safety, quality, and operational performance.

Working as part of a collaborative team, you will be involved in ingredient preparation, mixing, forming, baking, machine operation, changeovers, packing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
