Job summary

Aotearoa Infinite Academy in New Zealand seeks a Secondary Geography teacher (Years 9-13) to deliver Pre-IGCSE, IGCSE and NCEA Levels 2-3. Work fully remotely from anywhere in Aotearoa, building a connected learning community with innovative educators.

You'll design personalised learning, foster relationships in a virtual classroom, and assess progress with differentiated instruction and meaningful feedback.

Qualifications

• NZ Teaching Registration or eligible to register in NZ
• Teaching qualification with subject expertise in geography
• Strong knowledge of NCEA Levels 2-3
• Experience with online or blended learning environments
• Experience with IGCSE instruction preferred
• Comfort using educational technology and AI platforms

Aotearoa Infinite Academy is New Zealand's first tuition-free online high school, pioneering accessible, world-class education for students in Years 9-13 across all of Aotearoa. We combine international (Pearson Edexcel pre-IGCSE and IGCSE) and national (NCEA Levels 2 and 3) curricula with a flexible, virtual learning model that prioritises wellbeing, belonging, and personalised support.

The opportunity

Teach engaging Geography through live virtual classrooms to Years 9-13 students, delivering Pre-IGCSE, IGCSE, and NCEA Levels 2-3 curriculum. Work fully remotely from anywhere in New Zealand while building a supportive, connected learning community.

What you'll do

• Design personalised learning experiences
• Build trust-based relationships with students in a virtual environment
• Collaborate with a high-calibre team of innovative educators
• Support student progress through differentiated instruction
• Provide meaningful formative assessment, with quality feedback, feed-forward, and summative assessment, aligned to curriculum goals
• Contribute positively to the functioning and growth of the curriculum team
• Develop genuine partnerships with, and report to parents and caregivers to support learning

What we're looking for

• Teaching qualification and subject expertise
• Strong knowledge of NCEA curriculum (Levels 2-3)
• Excellent communication skills and comfort with digital technology
• IGCSE teaching experience
• Online or blended learning experience
