Job summary

Kiwibank is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to strengthen our observability capabilities as part of our Digital & Technology Team in New Zealand. You will help modernise banking services by building consistent monitoring across applications, cloud and on‑prem environments.

You will collaborate with development, security and architecture teams, champion SRE practices, implement Dynatrace/Splunk solutions, and drive automation with scripting and IaC to reduce MTTR and improve

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with observability tools (Dynatrace, Sumo Logic or Splunk).
• Experience aligning monitoring across on‑prem, cloud and hybrid environments.
• Experience in educating teams and driving business observability with SLOs and SLIs.
• Scripting, IaC and CI/CD to reduce ClickOps and automate common actions.
• Experience in integrations to help reduce mean time to recover (MTTR).
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills.
• Proven ability to mentor other engineers in Agile/DevOps settings.

Responsibilities

• Work with application, cloud and on‑prem teams to enable consistent observability capabilities.
• Provide guidance to Development teams, Product Owner, Security and Architecture to apply best practice frameworks.
• Drive improvements and advocate engineering excellence across the observability domain.
