Job summary

Kiwibank is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer for its Wellington, Auckland or Christchurch team, within the Digital & Technology group. This fixed-term role runs through September 2028 and centers on building a comprehensive observability platform that supports streamlined delivery of modern banking services.

You will work with application, cloud and on-prem teams to enable consistent observability, drive best practices, and educate engineers to achieve reliable customer outcomes

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in observability, monitoring and log aggregation tools.
• Experience aligning monitoring solutions across on-premises, cloud and hybrid environments.
• Ability to drive business observability with SLOs and SLIs.

Responsibilities

• Join the observability team to enable consistent capabilities across application, cloud and on-prem teams.
• Provide expertise to development, product owner, security and architecture to apply best practices.
• Help educate teams and drive outcomes through robust monitoring and incident response.
