Job summary

Bidfood Waipapa is seeking a Nightshift Team Leader (2IC) to work alongside the Nightshift Manager and guide our warehouse through the night. This hands-on role keeps you on the floor with the team, solving problems and ensuring orders are picked, packed, and loaded on time.

You're ready to step up, bring people with you, and build your leadership career. You'll supervise, coach, onboard new staff, and support admin tasks, all while maintaining safety, quality, and high service levels.

Qualifications

• Owns responsibilities and takes initiative on busy shifts.
• Able to motivate and lead a warehouse team.
• Experience in warehouse, logistics or distribution.
• Forklift experience or willingness to develop.
• Confident with warehouse systems and computers.

Responsibilities

Bidfood Waipapa is looking for a Nightshift Team Leader (2IC) to work alongside our Nightshift Manager and help lead our warehouse team through the night.

This isn't a job where you'll sit in an office telling people what to do. You'll be on the floor, working with the team, solving problems, keeping things moving and making sure the job gets done right.

And when the Nightshift Manager isn't there? You'll be the one stepping up.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Help run the nightshift and keep the warehouse moving
• Lead by example – get stuck in and work alongside the team
• Make sure orders are picked accurately, packed correctly and loaded on time
• Help organise people and workload throughout the shift
• Support, coach and train team members
• Help onboard new team members and set them up for success
• Spot problems, fix what you can and escal
• Help keep productivity, accuracy and service levels high
• Support the Nightshift Manager with admin and daily operations
• Step up and take charge when the Manager is away
• Keep the team focused on safety, quality and getting the job done

THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF...

You're not necessarily a manager yet – but you're ready to become one.

You might already be a senior picker, leading hand, warehouse operator or someone who naturally takes responsibility when things get busy.
