Job summary

Scenic Hotel Group operates Legacy Airedale Hotel Auckland, located at 380 Queen Street in the Auckland CBD. The Duty Manager role drives front office leadership, guest relations, and smooth operations across shifts including weekends.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years in Front Office within hotels, holds an LCQ and Managers Certificate, and possesses First Aid and a NZ driver’s licence. Flexible availability and strong interpersonal skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years Front Office experience in a hotel environment.
• An LCQ qualification and a current Managers Certificate required.
• A current First Aid certificate.
• A full NZ Drivers licence is required.
• Flexible in availability to cover mornings, evenings, and weekends.
• Ability to resolve guest complaints professionally.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in the Front Office department, including supervision of Front Office shifts.
• Support training and onboarding of new Front Office team members.
• Meeting and greeting guests, and managing guest reservations.
• Handle guest queries, complaints, and incidents promptly, ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Oversight of security of the hotel property, and reporting incidents or concerns to Management.
• Ensure compliance with Sale & Supply of Alcohol Act and Scenic Hotel Group host responsibilities by all team members.
• Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and food & beverage teams to ensure smooth guest experiences.
• Assist with any other duties reasonably required by the Front Office Manager or General Manager.

The Duty Manager role offers variety and is vital in ensuring the smooth and effective running of our Front Office department. This position requires a can-do attitude, great people skills, and the ability to work within a diverse team
