Job summary

Mainstream in Nelson is seeking an experienced Class 5 Linehaul Driver to join our Nelson-based team. This full-time role reports to the Operations Manager and offers the chance to drive modern, well-maintained trucks across New Zealand.

Qualifications

• Current Class 5 driver license with endorsements 1,2,4,5,F,D.
• Proven truck and trailer driving and reversing experience.
• Safe, reliable, and able to work unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive linehaul vehicles delivering and collecting freight nationwide.
• Assist with loading, securing, and unloading freight.
• Return swapped units to the depot after breaks.
• Maintain trucks and trailers, including fuel and upkeep.
• Record driving hours and trip details using EROAD for NZTA compliance.
• Coordinate with dispatch and warehouse to ensure smooth operations.
• Follow health, safety, and operational procedures at all times.

We’re looking for a Class 5 Linehaul Driver to join our Nelson based team. This is a full-time role reporting to the Operations Manager.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

• Safely and efficiently drive linehaul vehicles delivering and collecting freight nationwide
• Assist with loading, securing, and unloading freight, including gear swap operations
• Return swapped units to the depot for unloading after breaks
• Maintain trucks and trailers, including fuel, wash, RUCs, and general upkeep
• Use EROAD electronic logbooks to accurately record driving hours, rest breaks, and trip details in line with NZTA compliance requirements
• Work closely with dispatch, warehouse teams, and other departments to ensure smooth operations
• Follow all health, safety, and operational procedures at all times
