Job summary

Emmerson Transport is seeking a National Linehaul Planner to monitor and optimise our fleet performance and routes across Hawke's Bay. Emmerson Transport – Hastings, North Island

Our National Linehaul Planner will assist with the monitoring and managing of our national linehaul fleet performance and route planning to maximise the financial performance of our fleet.

Experience in the logistic sector around fleet planning and coordination is critical for this role. You will be highly motivated and be prepared to test and challenge our thinking on how our routes are configured and how we work our fleet. Your role will require you to work directly with our linehaul dispatchers with load planning and requires supervision of a small team of staff. You will have an eye for detail and thrive in an environment of shifting freight demands.

You will have the following skills/attributes:

• Ability to work effectively with others and be part of a wider team
• A strong focus on performance improvement and improving financial results
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly analytical with strong technical skills with working with transport and forward load planning software
• Lateral thinker capable of considering and implementing planning changes quickly
• Legislative knowledge of transport sector
• Highly proficient with technology and data analytics
• Has aptitude to understand operation aspects of a business to deliver results in their own role that also support wider business requirements
• Previous working history with logistics and freight movements in a transport sector or related industry
• Be tertiary qualified in logistics, analytics, management or similar tertiary education would be an advantage

The role is based in Hawkes Bay and includes a company vehicle.
