Job summary

Citycare Property is seeking a Mower Operator to join our team at Trentham Military Camp in Upper Hutt. In this outdoor, hands-on role you’ll maintain parks, sports fields, and landscaped areas to a high standard, using ride-on and pedestrian mowing equipment.

You’ll work independently within a supportive team, follow safety protocols, and complete routine equipment checks and basic maintenance while meeting contract standards.

Qualifications

• Experience operating ride-on mowers or similar outdoor machinery.
• Ability to obtain and maintain NZDF security clearance requirements.
• A full Class 1 driver’s licence.
• Commitment to health, safety and environmental practices.

Responsibilities

• Operating ride-on, tractor-mounted, and pedestrian mowing equipment
• Mowing, edging, line trimming, and general turf maintenance
• Maintaining sports fields, open spaces, roadsides, and landscaped areas
• Carrying out routine equipment checks and basic maintenance
• Identifying and reporting hazards, equipment issues, or site defects
• Working safely and following all NZDF site requirements and security protocols
• Delivering high-quality work that meets contract standards

Do you enjoy working outdoors, operating machinery, and seeing the results of your work at the end of the day? Citycare Property is looking for a Mower Operator to join our team at Trentham Military Camp. In this hands-on role, you’ll help maintain the camp’s parks, open spaces, sports fields, and landscaped areas to a high standard, ensuring they remain safe, tidy, and presentable year-round. This is a great opportunity for someone with mowing or parks maintenance experience who enjoys working independently while being part of a supportive team. Located in Upper Hutt, Trentham Military Camp is one of New Zealand’s key Defence sites. Your work will directly contribute to maintaining an environment where NZDF personnel can train, work, and serve.

What You’ll Be Doing | Ngā Kawenga Takohanga

• Operating ride-on, tractor-mounted, and pedestrian mowing equipment

• Ability to pass pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol, and criminal history checks
• Ability to obtain and maintain NZDF security clearance requirements
