Job summary

Citycare Property is seeking a Mower Operator to join our Trentham Military Camp team in Upper Hutt, New Zealand. You will operate ride-on and tractor-mounted mowing equipment to maintain parks, sports fields, and landscaped areas to a high standard.

The role suits someone who can work independently yet as part of a supportive team, with a full Class 1 licence and a commitment to health and safety. Competitive pay, long-term full-time employment, and company-provided PPE.

Qualifications

• Experience operating ride-on mowers or similar outdoor machinery.
• A full Class 1 driver’s licence.
• Ability to pass pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol, and security checks.

Citycare Property is looking for a Mower Operator to join our team at Trentham Military Camp. In this hands‑on role, you'll help maintain the camp's parks, open spaces, sports fields, and landscaped areas to a high standard, ensuring they remain safe, tidy, and presentable year‑round.

This is a great opportunity for someone with mowing or parks maintenance experience who enjoys working independently while being part of a supportive team.

Located in Upper Hutt, Trentham Military Camp is one of New Zealand's key Defence sites. Your work will directly contribute to maintaining an environment where NZDF personnel can train, work, and serve.

• Operating ride‑on, tractor‑mounted, and pedestrian mowing equipment
• Mowing, edging, line trimming, and general turf maintenance
• Maintaining sports fields, open spaces, roadsides, and landscaped areas
• Carrying out routine equipment checks and basic maintenance
• Identifying and reporting hazards, equipment issues, or site defects
• Working safely and following all NZDF site requirements and security protocols
• Delivering high‑quality work that meets contract standards
• Experience operating ride‑on mowers or similar outdoor machinery
• A full Class 1 driver's licence
• A strong work ethic and pride in maintaining high standards
• Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
• A commitment to health, safety, and environmental practices
• Reliable, self‑motivated, and able to work effectively as part of a team
• The legal right to work in New Zealand
• Ability to pass pre‑employment medical, drug and alcohol, and criminal history checks
• Ability to obtain and maintain NZDF security clearance requirements
