Are you an experienced Medical Receptionist who enjoys helping people and being part of a supportive team?
Clendon Medical Centre is looking for a friendly, professional and experienced Medical Receptionist to join our busy general practice. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week opportunity for someone who takes pride in providing excellent patient service and helping a medical centre run smoothly and efficiently.
About the Role
As one of the first points of contact for our patients, you will play an important role in creating a positive and professional experience from the moment our patients arrive at the practice.
Your responsibilities include:
- Welcoming and assisting patients.
- Answering telephone enquiries, booking, changing and coordinating patient appointments.
- Processing payments, invoicing and other reception-related administration.
- Managing patient enrolments and transfers.
- Liaising closely with clinicians, nurses and other members of the wider practice team.
- Maintaining high standards of patient privacy and confidentiality.
About You
- You will be warm, professional and confident, with the ability to build rapport quickly with patients and colleagues.
- You understand that working in general practice can be busy and unpredictable and therefore you are able be calm, organised and solution-focused while managing competing priorities.
- You will be a great communicator who is reliable and brings strong attention to detail.
- Positive, proactive attitude with the ability to recognise what needs to be done without always needing to be asked.
- Display a genuine commitment to the principles and practice of health equity, including providing culturally safe and inclusive service to all patients.
- Previous medical reception experience, ideally within general practice, primary care, acute care or a similarly busy healthcare environment.
- A strong understanding of general practice.
- MedTech Evolution experience highly advantageous.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Good computer literacy and the ability to learn systems quickly.
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
- A proactive and positive approach to work.
- A genuine team focus and willingness to support colleagues.
