Job summary

PAE Inc Group is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter Welder to join our team supporting an NZDF facility in Devonport, Auckland. You will perform mechanical fitting, welding, fabrication, repair and maintenance to ensure plant and equipment operate safely and reliably.

Qualifications

  • Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Welding, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding capability.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

  • Resilience, flexibility, and willingness to support operational requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake mechanical maintenance and unscheduled repair work within agreed timeframes.
  • Carry out fitting, servicing, repairs, welding, fabrication, and modification work.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and equipment specifications.
  • Assist with maintenance planning, scheduling, and reporting activities.
  • Conduct inspections and complete maintenance documentation and checklists.
  • Support the management of mechanical maintenance subcontractors.
  • Manage materials and resources required for maintenance and project work.

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter Welder to join our team supporting an NZDF facility in Devonport.


As a Mechanical Fitter Welder, you will provide mechanical fitting, welding, fabrication, repair, and maintenance services across client facilities, ensuring plant, equipment, and infrastructure are maintained to a high standard and operational requirements are met. Working as part of a collaborative team, you'll play a key role in maintaining critical assets that support day-to‑day operations.


About the Role


You will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance activities, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.


Working closely with PAE colleagues, subcontractors, and customers, you'll contribute to the reliability and performance of plant and equipment while supporting continuous improvement, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities
