Job summary

Staffing Agency Limited is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter for a busy mining project in Waihi, NZ. This hands-on role covers mechanical fitting, pipework, pumping systems and general installation.

You will work on-site with a supportive site team, engaging in varied, practical tasks. The position offers 7:00am-5:00pm shifts, overtime, weekend half-days, and travel to Waihi covered for eligible candidates from Tauranga or Hamilton.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter.
• Strong practical mechanical skills.
• Comfortable with pipework and mechanical equipment.
• Reliable and physically capable.
• Strong health and safety awareness.
• Positive, flexible attitude.
• NZ living/working history of 2+ years in NZ.
• Legal right to work in NZ.

Staffing agency is a national recruitment company. We’re seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join one of our clients a busy mining project in Waihi. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work, variety, and being part of a hardworking site team.

You won’t be stuck doing the same task every day. The role covers mechanical fitting, pipework, plumbing, pump installation, equipment assembly and general mechanical work across the site.

Haven’t done plastic welding before? That’s fine. Training can be provided on site for the right person.

What We’re Looking For:

We want an experienced fitter who is practical, reliable and willing to get stuck in.

Ideally, you’ll have experience with:

• Mechanical fitting
• Galvanised pipe threading
• Plumbing or pipe installation
• Pumps and mechanical equipment
• Mechanical assembly and installation
• Industrial, construction or mining environments

More importantly, you’ll bring a strong work ethic and a great attitude.

You’ll be someone who is:

• Reliable and hardworking
• Confident using tools and mechanical equipment
• Physically capable of site work
• Adaptable and willing to help across different tasks
• Safety conscious
• Comfortable working as part of a team
• Willing to learn new skills

To Be Considered, You Must:

• Have proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter

• Have been living and working in New Zealand for at least two years
