Job summary

Kiwi SL Contractors in Auckland is seeking a Landscape Gardener to help plan, construct and maintain outdoor spaces for our clients. You will assess sites, prepare garden plans, select plants and materials, and work as part of a team to deliver robust landscape projects.

Join our crew to execute garden bed layouts, paths, lawns, and plantings while applying safe handling of tools and materials in an outdoor environment.

Qualifications

• NZQF Level 4 qualification or 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Practical experience in landscape construction and planting.
• Good physical fitness and ability to work outdoors.
• Reliable work ethic, attention to detail and ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assess sites, take measurements and plan garden layouts to meet client requirements.
• Prepare landscape plans, select suitable plants and materials, and organise project work.
• Clear and prepare sites, including grading ground and preparing soil for planting.
• Set out and construct garden beds, paths, paved areas, retaining walls and fences.
• Prepare lawn areas by spreading topsoil, laying instant turf or sowing grass seed.
• Plant trees, shrubs, hedges and other plants, and install supports or protection where required.
• Maintain gardens and lawns through pruning, weeding, mowing, watering and fertilising.
• Use and maintain landscaping tools and equipment safely.
