Job summary

Kiwi SL Contractors is seeking a Landscape Gardener in Auckland to help plan, construct and maintain outdoor spaces for clients. The role involves site assessment, layout planning and selecting plants and materials to meet client requirements.

You will prepare lawn areas, plant trees and shrubs, and maintain gardens, working outdoors with a focus on safe tool use and teamwork.

Qualifications

• NZQF Level 4 qualification or at least one year of relevant work experience.
• Practical experience in landscape construction and planting preferred.
• Good physical fitness and ability to work outdoors.
• Reliable work ethic, attention to detail and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Clear sites, grade ground and prepare soil for planting.
• Set out and construct garden beds, paths, retaining walls and fences.

• Maintain gardens and lawns through pruning, weeding, mowing, watering and fertilising.
• Use and maintain landscaping tools and equipment safely.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess sites, take measurements and plan garden layouts to meet client requirements.
• Prepare landscape plans, select suitable plants and materials, and organise project work.
• Clear and prepare sites, including grading ground and preparing soil for planting.
• Set out and construct garden beds, paths, paved areas, retaining walls and fences.
• Prepare lawn areas by spreading topsoil, laying instant turf or sowing grass seed.
• Plant trees, shrubs, hedges and other plants, and install supports or protection whererequired.
• Maintain gardens and lawns through pruning, weeding, mowing, watering and fertilising.
• Use and maintain landscaping tools and equipment safely.

Job Prerequisites

• A relevant NZQF Level 4 qualification, or at least one year of relevant work experience.
• Practical experience in landscape construction and planting is preferred.
