Job summary

Kāinga Ora is seeking motivated Operators to join our Maintenance Operations Centre in Addington, Christchurch, on fixed-term contracts through to 30 June 2027. You will validate service requests, determine trades and priorities, and create precise work orders to support timely and quality maintenance delivery.

In a fast-paced, collaborative team, you’ll monitor progress, support performance outcomes, and keep stakeholders informed, including when handling urgent or complex cases.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in property, facilities, maintenance, or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• Proven experience managing building maintenance programmes and long-term maintenance plans.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret information and make sound decisions.
• Excellent communication and relationship management, including resolving issues and managing commercial partnerships.
• Experience managing risk, health and safety, and applying established processes.

Responsibilities

• Process a high volume of maintenance requests and validate service requests.
• Determine the appropriate trade and priority for each request.
• Create accurate work orders to enable efficient maintenance delivery.
• Monitor progress and support performance outcomes.
• Keep stakeholders informed, especially for urgent or complex cases.
