Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join a site handling heavy crushing, screening and mobile plant. You'll work on large-scale machinery, perform preventative maintenance, fault finding and repairs to keep equipment running safely and reliably.

Trade-qualified as a Maintenance Fitter / Mechanical Fitter, you should have experience with heavy plant and a hands-on approach. This day-shift role offers generous hourly pay, medical and life insurance, and a varied

Responsibilities

• Preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections.
• Mechanical fault-finding and breakdown repairs.
• Maintenance of crushers, screens, conveyors and quarry plant.
• Working across fixed and mobile equipment.
• Diagnosing problems and root-cause analysis.
• Identifying potential failures before costly breakdowns.
• Carrying out repairs and mechanical maintenance.
• Supporting improvements to plant reliability.

If you're a Maintenance Fitter who likes working on big machinery rather than small production equipment, this could be the move you've been waiting for.

Our client operates a large-scale, technically advanced site with some serious crushing, screening, conveying and mobile plant.

They're looking for an experienced Maintenance Fitter / Mechanical Fitter who knows their way around heavy equipment, enjoys fault-finding and takes pride in keeping machinery running.

The Job

You'll be part of the team responsible for keeping critical plant operating safely, reliably and efficiently.

One day you could be carrying out planned maintenance on a crusher or conveyor system; the next, you could be fault-finding a breakdown and getting a piece of equipment back up and running.

You'll be involved in:

• Preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections
• Mechanical fault-finding and breakdown repairs
• Maintenance of crushers, screens, conveyors and associated quarry plant
• Working across both fixed and mobile equipment
• Diagnosing problems and getting to the root cause
• Identifying potential failures before they become expensive breakdowns
• Carrying out repairs, component changes and mechanical maintenance
• Supporting improvements to plant reliability
• Working closely with operators and the wider maintenance team
• Keeping equipment, tools and the work area to a high standard

You won't be waiting around for someone to tell you exactly what needs doing. You'll use your mechanical knowledge, experience and initiative to identify problems, find solutions and keep the plant moving.

We're looking for someone who is:

• Trade-qualified as a Maintenance Fitter / Mechanical Fitter
• Experienced with heavy plant, industrial machinery or processing equipment
• Strong at mechanical fault-finding and diagnostics
• Comfortable working on large, complex machinery
• Practical, hands-on and mechanically minded
• Proactive about preventative maintenance
• Reliable and willing to get stuck in
• A team player who communicates well
• Serious about safety and takes pride in their workmanship
