Job summary

Hynds Pipe Systems Limited is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Fitter to join the team at our Pokeno manufacturing site. You’ll keep presses and lines running, plan shutdowns, and implement fixes that last.

You’ll manufacture and weld plastic liner components to drawings and collaborate with the production team to drive improvements. The role requires a Mechanical Trade Certificate, strong hydraulics knowledge, and flexibility to work day and night shifts.

Qualifications

• A Mechanical Trade Certificate (or equivalent) and solid experience as a maintenance fitter in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Strong hydraulics and automated equipment experience.
• Full NZ Class 1 licence and flexibility to work day and night shifts.
• A safety-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Keep our plant running reliably through planned maintenance and quick breakdown response
• Get to the root of problems and put fixes in place that last
• Take charge of the mechanical side of shutdowns and spares
• Manufacture and weld plastic liner components to drawings
• Share your know-how with the production team and help us keep improving

Job description

Are you someone who gets a buzz out of tracking down a fault and fixing it properly, so it doesn't come back? Hynds is looking for a hands‑on Maintenance Fitter to join the team at our Pokeno manufacturing site.

No two days are the same here. One day you're planning a shutdown, the next you're getting a line back up and running after a breakdown, or finding a smarter way to make a machine run better. You'll also get involved in manufacturing and welding components for our plastic lined pipes, so there's plenty of variety to keep things interesting. You'll work closely with the production team, who’ll rely on you to keep things moving, and you'll have real input into how we improve our plant.
