Job summary

Hynds in Pokeno is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Fitter to keep our manufacturing site running smoothly. You’ll plan and perform planned maintenance, troubleshoot faults and fix them so they don’t recur, and you’ll also manufacture and weld plastic liner components to drawings.

You’ll work closely with the production team, take charge during shutdowns, share know-how to help us improve the plant, and be flexible to day and night shifts with a safety-first mindset.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Trade Certificate or equivalent.
• Solid experience as a maintenance fitter in manufacturing/industrial setting.
• Strong hydraulics and automated equipment experience.
• NZ Class 1 licence and ability to work day and night shifts.
• Safety-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Keep plant running reliably through planned maintenance and quick breakdown response.
• Get to the root of problems and put fixes in place that last.
• Take charge of the mechanical side of shutdowns and spares.
• Manufacture and weld plastic liner components to drawings.

Job description

Are you someone who gets a buzz out of tracking down a fault and fixing it properly, so it doesn't come back? Hynds is looking for a hands-on Maintenance Fitter to join the team at our Pokeno manufacturing site.

No two days are the same here. One day you're planning a shutdown, the next you're getting a line back up and running after a breakdown, or finding a smarter way to make a machine run better. You'll also get involved in manufacturing and welding components for our plastic lined pipes, so there's plenty of variety to keep things interesting. You'll work closely with the production team, who'll rely on you to keep things moving, and you'll have real input into how we improve our plant.

What You'll Bring:

• A Mechanical Trade Certificate (or equivalent) and solid experience as a maintenance fitter in a manufacturing or industrial setting

• Full NZ Class 1 licence and flexibility to work day and night shifts
• A safety-first mindset
