Job summary

Heritage Lifecare operates Clutha Views Lifecare and Village in Balclutha, Otago. The role is permanent full-time (32 hours or more per week) with Monday to Friday shifts, based at Clutha Views Lifecare and Village.

The Maintenance Coordinator will create a safe, clean and comfortable environment for residents, coordinate preventative maintenance, manage repairs, care for gardens and liaise with contractors, while upholding health and safety standards and supporting the Care Home Manager.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance, painting, plumbing and minor carpentry is preferred but not essential.
• Experience in trade skills, property, facilities, or maintenance management is preferred.
• Ability to work as part of a team and also independently.
• Ability to build good rapport with others and show empathy.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
• A genuine love for helping people, with excellent customer service skills, and a friendly and positive attitude.
• Experience delivering to a quality standard.
• A full clean driver’s license.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Coordinator to help create a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our residents. We are looking for someone with a positive, can-do attitude, strong practical maintenance skills, and a passion for making a difference.

In this hands‑on role, you will coordinate preventative maintenance, manage repairs, maintain gardens and grounds, liaise with contractors, support health and safety compliance, and work closely with the Care Home Manager to ensure resident safety and wellbeing.

The ideal candidate will be organised, proactive, reliable, and committed to delivering high-quality service. Basic IT skills are desirable but not essential. This is a great opportunity to join a supportive team where career development and positive work ethics are valued.
