New World Pioneer in Palmerston North is seeking a Liquor Assistant to share enthusiasm for craft beer and wine, build a great range, and create an engaging shopping experience for customers who appreciate quality and variety.

You’ll bring product knowledge and personality to a liquor department that stands out, offering more than just a shelf of bottles and helping customers find their next favourite drop.

Qualifications

• Real interest in craft beer and wine; learn about styles, producers and regions.
• Confident sharing recommendations and helping customers find something they’ll love.
• Presentations, organisation and attention to detail.
• Previous liquor retail, hospitality or specialty retail experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Helping customers discover new craft beers, wines and other interesting products through friendly, knowledgeable recommendations
• Building knowledge of breweries, wineries, varieties, regions and emerging trends
• Maintaining an attractive, well-stocked and carefully presented department
• Replenishing stock, rotating products and creating eye-catching displays
• Keeping up with new products and sharing discoveries with customers and the team
• Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the department

We’re looking for someone who brings genuine enthusiasm and curiosity to the role.

• You have a real interest in craft beer and wine and enjoy learning about different styles, producers and regions
• You’re confident sharing recommendations and helping customers find something they’ll love
• You enjoy discovering new products and keeping up with what’s happening in the industry
• You take pride in presentation, organisation and attention to detail
• You’re reliable, proactive and enjoy being part of a team
• Previous liquor retail, hospitality or specialty retail experience is an advantage

You don’t need to know everything, but you do need to be curious, enthusiastic and keen to keep learning.

Hours of Work

Tuesday to Saturday 12:00pm – 8:30pm
