Job summary

Rototuna Junior High School in Hamilton is seeking an enthusiastic learning support teacher for a fixed-term role to cover parental leave. The successful applicant will support students through individual, small-group and classroom-based programmes and contribute to inclusive practices.

This position offers an opportunity to collaborate with teachers, whānau and external agencies, develop and implement Individual Learning Plans, and build confidence and independence in learners across Years 1–8.

Qualifications

• Certified teacher with current NZ registration.
• Experience in learning support or inclusive education.
• Ability to develop Individual Learning Plans and learning goals.

Responsibilities

• Support students through individual, small-group and classroom-based programmes.
• Develop and contribute to Individual Learning Plans and appropriate learning goals.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, whānau, Learning Assistants and external agencies.
• Support students to develop confidence, independence and agency as learners.
• Adapt and develop learning programmes to meet diverse learning needs.
• Build positive, respectful and trusting relationships with students.
• Contribute to an inclusive school environment where every student is valued and supported.
• Work collaboratively as part of our wider learning support team.
